Each year APS adjusts the RCP rate and new solar customers lock in that rate for 10 years. For example if you put in a solar application before September 1st this year you would lock in 9.4 cents per kWh of power every year for the next ten years. Homeowners who leave town on vacation for instance, and your sending excess energy back to the APS grid ….. you’ll get the 8.4 cents whether you send it back during Off-peak or On-peak time periods. APS will give you a monetary credit each month on their bill.
